15 Hours of Free Kindy

We are pleased to be able to offer Free Kindy at BAC Early Learning.

About the Free Kindy initiative

Kindy, the year before Prep (the first year of formal schooling), is 15 hours per week, for 40 weeks of the year, and is offered free thanks to Queensland Government funding.

Long Day Care vs. Sessional Kindergarten

Kindergarten is delivered in different ways at different services. For some services, such as sessional kindergartens, the 15 hours of Free Kindy might be delivered over two or three days. Additional care, such as for kindergarten in a long day care setting (such as BA Early Learning), must be paid for separately. If a child attends Kindy in a long day care setting, additional care may be covered in part by the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy.

See the graphic below for a visual explanation of Free Kindy in a long day care setting, as well as the links below that explain Free Kindy

across 2 and 3 days.

Child Care Subsidy

BAC Early Learning is registered with the Family Assistance Office for the receipt of Child Care Subsidy (CCS). Child Care Subsidy is an assistance scheme which is funded by the Federal Government. It is designed to ensure that all families can afford quality childcare. Under the Child Care Subsidy scheme a formula is used to calculate what part of the fee each family will pay. This fee depends on the family income and activity.
