Creative Arts and Drama

School to Stage Creative Arts, Drama, Speech and Acting Program: an extracurricular lunch-time class for Primary students Years 1-6.

The School to Stage Creative Arts program is an excellent opportunity to develop acting and performance skills and enhance confidence, public speaking, creative thinking and expression, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

These classes are a great way to develop not only acting and performance skills, but also confident public speaking and presenting, rich language, problem solving, teamwork, creative thinking and expression, initiative, motivation, improvisation, and good work ethic.

Through games, exercises, and performance opportunities, students learn valuable creative skills, including character interpretation through movement and voice, dialogue delivery, audition etiquette, scripting and line learning, and being part of a wider production.

It can be difficult for students to gain practical performance experience in a real performance space – like a stage – for a real live audience. This is why a live performance is an important part of our School to Stage program and something we work towards throughout the year.

These productions provide students with a supportive and fun environment in which to implement what they have learned, making use of their performance skills in a live production for family and friends. Such performances also help students become familiar with a performance experience, reducing nervousness and building self-confidence.
