Primary Speech Winners 2009

We reported in our last newsletter the winners of our recent Primary Speech competition but
I was so impressed with the quality of speeches, I want to take this opportunity to once again congratulate and feature our speech winners! The top placegetters for 2009 are (their chosen topics are in brackets):

Lower Primary
First Place – Amber Warburton (Tennis)
Second Place – Chante Bates (Surfing)
Third Place – Lachlan Hansford (Practical Jokes)

Upper Primary
First Place – Madeleine Rashleigh (Rosa Parkes)
Second Place – Annie Jung (Jet Engines)
Third Place – Sarah Kim (Braille)

The speeches were of a very high quality this year with the judges finding it difficult to separate the contestants. Eventually, the narrowest of margins separated the final placings. Well done students; your speeches were thoroughly enjoyable! Thank you also to our guest judges, Pastor Malcolm Potts, and Mr Colin Leeson. Both of these gentlemen have experience and expertise in public speaking and were excited about the quality of our students’ speeches. Once again, congratulations to our speech competition winners! BAC School Musical
4 August

Brisbane Adventist College Primary Students will be presenting the musical - Holy Moses and would like to invite you. Join the cast of "Trading Places" at a Hebrew home and an Egyptian
palace where Page Turner, Hildi Vine, Frank Incense and Ty Kwando assist kids in discovering the story of Moses. But there's no redesigning history in this musical as kids learn about the plagues, the Passover, the Exodus and the Ten Commandments through clever lyrics and memorable music. As in his own life, the emphasis of this musical is not on Moses, but the God of Moses -
the Great I AM!
