Early Learning Centre & Kindergarten

The BAC Early Learning Centre is co-located on the primary campus, and consists of three large rooms and an enclosed adventure playground surrounded by wide open spaces. This is a play-based environment that delivers age-appropriate programs in a safe and supportive space.

When you pick your child up at the end of the day, you will see photos and a summary of the day’s activities, so that you too, have a window into their ELC experience.

At the Early Learning Centre we believe:

  • in making children the focus of our program
  • that play is the fundamental medium for young children’s learning
  • that each child is an individual who develops at his or her own rate and comes from a unique family environment
  • that learning and development are best promoted when children are actively involved in an environment that is rich with open-ended materials
  • that children are competent thinkers and learners and that the adult's role is to support and extend learning and development in ways that recognise this competence
  • that children grow and develop to their greatest potential in an environment that is emotionally warm and secure
  • that children learn by interacting with one another
  • that families have the right to be involved in their child’s learning and are the single biggest influence in their lives
  • that all children have the right to learn and develop to their full potential

All aspects of our programs, activities and experiences comply with the requirements of the Child Care Act (2002) and Child Care Regulations (2003). We base our programs on the learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework Belonging, Being & Becoming, and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines.
