Nationally Consistent Collection of Data News Update!

Nationally Consistent Collection of Data for 2017 has opened. This collection of data provides Australian schools, parents, education authorities and community with information about numbers of students with disabilities in schools, their location and the adjustment received. Every school has an obligation to students under the Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) to provide protection against discrimination based on disability.  The definition of disability for the national data collection is based on the broad definition under the DDA. For the purposes of the national data collection, students with learning difficulties, such as dyslexia or auditory processing disorder, as well as chronic health conditions like epilepsy or diabetes, that require monitoring and the provision of adjustments by the school, may be included.
