Academic
Learning is our core business. We encourage our children to love learning and to make quality independent decisions. All students are expected to apply themselves to their academic studies and parental support is vital in helping each student to reach their full potential.
Our programmes of work are based on the national Seventh-day Adventist curriculum documents and they reflect current state and national education initiatives. When homework is set it is expected to be completed to the teacher's satisfaction.
Reports
Primary students receive the following reports during the course of the year:
- Term I (mid term) parent/teacher interviews - interim reports
- Term II (end of Semester 1) parent/teacher interviews - written report
- Term III (No report)
- Term IV (end of semester 2) written report – optional interview
Semester one reports are issued towards the end of term two with the interviews held in the last week of Term Two.
Music lessons
Itinerant music teachers provide private and group lessons in piano, guitar, strings and we hope to also offer brass instruments in the future. Tuition fees are charged to parents/caregivers and payment is arranged by parents directly with the tutors. Contact numbers may be obtained from the College Administration Office.
Homework
Except in rare circumstances, there is always homework. Many teachers communicate through a homework diary. If no homework is set, as every keen motivated student would know, there is always scope for revising the day's work, studying for tests or completing assignments.
