Our College started as a Primary School in 1966 on what had been a large dairy farm facing Broadwater Road. Our Primary School was in fact one of the first established in the Mt Gravatt area. A Secondary School was established in 1972 along Wishart Road. Both schools grew steadily over the years and in 1999 it was decided to amalgamate them and the Early Learning Centre into one College. Since this amalgamation, the College has operated with one Principal, two Deputy Principals (Primary and Secondary) and a Director of our Early Learning Centre. The College is governed by our Board of Directors and College Council, and we are owned and operated by Adventist Schools (South Queensland) Limited.
BAC, as we are now affectionately known, continues to provide quality Christian education for students from all sectors of our community. The current student catchment area is wide ranging and extends from the Gold Coast to Ipswich and Brisbane Central. We operate 2 streams of classes from Prep to year 12, with a student population of approximately 620 students. This varies from year to year.
We have functional relationships with all Adventist churches in South Brisbane, and we are grateful for their continued support. The College has a 5 Year Strategic Plan in place for 2011-2015 with Annualised Plans developed annually.
Brisbane Adventist College is recognized both by the Government of Queensland and by the Seventh-day Adventist Education System. Certificates of Registration and Accreditation are on display in our Admin Reception.
