The Brisbane Adventist College Outside School Hours Care programme is offered to parents of children attending Brisbane Adventist College and surrounding communities. It is available to parents and guardians who need their children, enrolled in Grade 1 through to Grade 7, to be at school out of the official operating hours – 8:15 am to 3:30 pm. Vacation Care is also available during BAC School holidays and BAC pupil free days.

It is a well supervised and enjoyable programme allowing the children to relax before and after school with set times for homework in the afternoons. A nutritious afternoon tea is also provided. All children attending the programme must abide by the College’s Code of Conduct and maintain the high standard of behaviour expected by the College. The location of the OSHC is in the Student Centre occupying Classroom 2 on the Mezzanine level as well as the Demountable in Block D Room 2 on the Primary Campus.

The College Childcare/Pre-Prep Centre provides the same service for children currently enrolled in the College Prep programme. We believe this serves the children and families with the best possible care. Prep aged children can at times require that little bit of extra care and attention which is possible with the higher Childcare/Pre-Prep staff ratios and facilities. Children are taken to their classroom at 8.45 am and collected at 3.30 pm each afternoon.

Each session the ratio of children to staff is 1-15.

The service is licensed to care for a maximum of 30 children at each session.

Before School Care

Children arriving at school between 7:00 am and 8:15 am need to make their way to the Student Centre into the care of the OSHC staff, thus enabling them to enjoy the games and activities provided.

At 8:15am the OHSC children will make their way to the Primary Campus, meeting at the concrete area in front of the tuck-shop, where they will be placed in the care of the Primary Duty Teacher.

After School Care

Children staying after school will be supervised by the Primary Duty Teacher until 3:30pm after which time they will be collected by OSHC staff to join the OSHC programme (Prep children are taken to the Childcare/Pre-Prep Centre)

The OSHC children will then move to the Demountable for roll call and will remain there for supervised activities until approx 4.15 pm when they will move to the Student Centre for afternoon tea and a supervised Homework session. At 5.30 pm the children move back to the Demountable where they are collected by their parents. Flags on the demountable indicate where the children are on the College grounds. If for some reason you will be late, please notify staff by phone on 3347 6403. Remember, a late fee may apply (see Fees section below).

Points of Contact

If your child is a regular attendee and will be absent on occasion please contact the College Admin Office who will then inform the OSHC Coordinator of the absence. This helps us fulfill our duty of care as well as provide peace of mind and efficient supervision.
