BAC's Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) works in collaboration with children, families and the wider school community to create a stimulating learning environment.
Our inclusive and flexible program caters for children of all ages and developmental stages and is scaffolded to foster to the student’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive and language development. This is achieved through a more relaxed environment than school, in which children are given the freedom to choose and construct their own learning.
Children are encouraged to follow their personal interests through learning experiences, both planned and spontaneous. Children are actively involved in the planning and implementation of activities such as gardening, cooking, sports games, crafts and excursions. We also encourage children to complete some or all of their homework during After School Care, however this is not compulsory.
Crucial to our OSHC program is the Australian Government’s National Quality Framework for childhood education and care. We closely follow the ‘My Time, Our Place – Framework for School Age Care in Australia’ and endeavour to achieve the Framework outcomes:
Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity
Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world
Outcome 3: Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators
