Early Learning Centre Learning

Our centre aims to provide an environment as close to the family home life as possible. Our program is designed to include a variety of learning experiences including indoor and outdoor activities, large and small group interaction and individual experiences.

We welcome parental involvement and encourage feedback from parents to help in forming a close relationship with you the most important people in your child’s lives.

At our Centre we believe:

  • In making children the focus of our program
  • That play is “the fundamental medium for young children’s learning”
  • That each child is an individual who develops at his or her own rate and comes from a unique family environment
  • That learning and development will best be promoted when children become actively involved in the learning process in an environment which is rich in open-ended materials
  • That children are competent thinkers and learners
  • That the role of adults is to support and extend learning and development in a ways that recognise this competence
  • That children will grow and develop to their greatest potential in an environment which is emotionally warm and secure
  • That children learn from interacting with one another
  • That families have the right to be involved in their children’s learning and are the single biggest influence in the lives of children
  • That all children have the right to learn and develop to their fullest potential

Daily Routines and Programs
Daily routines and programs are displayed in each room for parent information, along with a brief summary of the day’s activities (displayed at pick up time). This information assists parents in discussing details of their child’s day with them. Our programs are continually evaluated to gauge their effectiveness.

We ensure all aspects of our programs, activities and experiences, comply with and meet the requirements of the Child Care Act (2002) and Child Care Regulations (2003).

We work closely with Families to maximise the learning potential of each child. Our programs are based on the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and include:
•    Indoor and Outdoor Play experiences
•    Quiet and Active Times
•    Individual, small and large group activities
•    Teacher, child and parent initiated activities and experiences
•    Combined room and whole of centre special days and activities
•    On-going projects
