Early Learning Centre

Our Early Learning Centre is a 50 place child care centre located within the grounds of Brisbane Adventist College for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

We are open 7 am to 6pm, Monday to Thursday, and 7am to 4.45pm on Fridays.

Since opening in 1994 our aim has been to provide families with high quality, developmentally appropriate care and education for their children within a Christian environment  which promotes their social, emotional, intellectual, creative, linguistic and spiritual development to its fullest potential.

We currently run three early childhood programmes - Infants, Kindy and a specialised Pre-Prep Programme, which includes transition visits to our Prep Classrooms in Semester 2 every year. We also provide Outside School Hours Care and Vacation Care for children aged 5 to 12 years.

All our wonderful staff hold early childhood qualifications and are encouraged to attend regular early childhood professional development, as well as being trained to provide developmentally appropriate programs, based on the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), to maintain a modern and dynamic learning environment for your child.

Brisbane Adventist College Early Learning Centre is a fully accredited and licensed provider of Child Care, and is an approved Long Hours Day Care Centre for Commonwealth Child Care Benefits (CCB).

We understand the importance of a nurturing environment and the provision of quality care in an Early Childhood setting. We have designed our centre to be just like a family home - warm, secure, loving and welcoming. We want to share your child’s excitement, applaud their success and provide them with lots of love and cuddles as they grow and create those memories that will last a lifetime.

Our Centre Goals:

  • To encourage children’s spiritual growth.
  • To provide an environment that supports children’s play.
  • To provide children with large blocks of uninterrupted time to work on their projects.
  • To have adults acknowledge children’s feelings and ideas, listen responsively and give appropriate affection.
  • To provide children with frequent opportunities to make real choices and real decisions.
  • To encourage children to be involved in direct exploration and interaction with people and a wide range of materials.

  • To have adults support and extend learning by involving children in a range of experiences.
  • To demonstrate appropriate ways of using ideas and doing things.
  • To providing positive guidance while valuing children’s best attempts.

  • To challenge children through new ideas and ways of thinking.
  • To encourage children to be involved in individual, small group and whole group experiences.
  • To provide learning and development programs that are based on observations of individual children and the group as a whole.

  • To recognise and cater for children with special needs or disabilities, children for whom English is a second language and children from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
