Brisbane Adventist College Secondary Campus is a vibrant and active place of learning for students from Year 7 to 12.
Students are offered comprehensive pathways to further education and/or careers. While we are extremely proud of our high achieving students with fantastic OP results, we are also proud of those students who have successfully given their careers a 'early start' by completing certificate courses or traineeships while at school.
All our classrooms are digitally equipped with appropriate technology to enhance the delivery of the curriculum, meet the needs of a broad range of learning styles, and equip students for the one-to-one laptop/tablet programme from Year 7. Our teachers participate regularly in professional development opportunities in the area of technology and are keen to find new and exciting ways to enhance student learning.
Opportunities for students to be involved in the life of our College are many and varied, including (but not limited to) sporting teams, music ensemble, choir, worship band, student chaplaincy, acro team, Duke of Edinburgh Award, chess, fitness, peer mentoring and StormCo community service projects. In all of these areas, students have enjoyed outstanding success.
In 2011, BAC Secondary responded to an amazing offer to become the pilot school in Australia for STARS peer mentoring and personal development program, operated by the Foundation for Youth Development. The benefits of having Year 11 students mentoring their younger counterparts in Year 8 are exciting and significant.
If you are a current student or parent, you have good reason to be proud of your school. If you are not a current member of our community, then why don't you come and see our school for yourself? I believe you will like what you see!
